Pool Time

We put Makenna in her baby raft for the first time tonight. She absolutely loved it. She leaned over and put her little hands in the water and took off splashing. You could also see her little feet kickin' under water too. Summer has definitely started...Peyton mentions going to the pool at least 100 times a day! It's probably only going to get worse huh? ha ha...

Memorial Day Weekend

Our church hosted a wonderful beach party evening the night before Memorial Day. We had grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, and the list goes on! The kids jumped in bouncy playhouses, played volleyball, and played in big sand buckets. They even had a band there playing beach music with a dance floor for shaggin'. They also gave away a couple of vacations and a plasma TV. We had a very nice time. The event was supposed to be outside with truck loads of sand brought in but due to the rain, it was moved inside. That's ok...we still had a great time! Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Spa Treatment

Our plans for going out of town got canceled due to the weather so I thought today would be the perfect day to take advantage of some spa gift cards that Brian had given me. I was taking a chance that someone would have an opening at the last minute. I got in around 3:30 for an hour long facial - my first ever. Man! It was WONDERFUL! Everything about the experience was pampering and relaxing. I've had mani's and pedi's and I thought that I was going to splurge on a body massage but this facial was heavenly! I will definitely be doing this again and SOON! If not for another facial it will most certainly be for something. I loved the robes, the music, the smell of the products and the staff was great. They gave me some product samples too...I love me some samples! Now that I've gotten my feet wet, I'd love to do a 1/2 day or whole day...hint hint Brian. :)

Thanks Brian for such an ultimate treat. I love you!

Bike Boy

Peyton is now riding his bicycle without his training wheels. We took them off about a month ago but this weekend, Peyton really took off with confidence. Here's the video...mommy's so proud!

Pretty Toes

I painted Makenna's toenails before the reception and she sat perfectly still and watched intently while I did it. Ever since, when we ask "Makenna, where's pretty?" she points to her little toes. She's so cute! I just love having a little girl. :)

The Lingbergs

We went to Charleston this past weekend due to a reception that a dear friend of mine had with her new husband. They got married in the Caribbean so they had a reception with their inland friends. They had the reception at the James Island state park. The location was beautiful and Melissa decorated it very beachy elegant.
They had BBQ and low country boil...YUM! She also had a caricature artist there offering complementary caricatures. That artist was amazing.
Congratulations Melissa and Rob! Here's to a lifetime of happiness!

Charleston Weekend

We went to Charleston over Mother's Day weekend and spent Saturday on the beach. We had a fabulous time with it being Makenna's first time. She wasn't sure about the water but she loved the sand...even eating it. This was our first time on Folly Beach...we will definitely go back. Enjoy the pics!

Puddle Jumper

Makenna escaped out the garage during the party and was determine to get into a puddle...she succeeded. We just stood backed and watched her reaction to the rain drops hitting her head and when it didn't bother her, we knew we were in trouble. She headed straight for the puddle and before we knew it, she sat right down in it! She didn't care...that's what diapers are for right?

Drew's 15th Birthday

Saturday we went down to visit our good friends Denise and Drew for Drew's birthday. We had good ole hamburgers and hotdogs - even though Charlie had to grill in the rain! Drew's big gift was a 32 inch flat screen TV. Happy Birthday Drew!

End of Year Program

Friday morning mom and I went to the sweetest performance put on by Peyton's class. It was their end of year program/graduation. It was called "What a Wonderful World" and they all got up and said what makes a wonderful world and they sang a lot of songs. I of course cried and laughed through out the entire program. What got me the most was when they sang "You are my Sunshine". I used to sing that to Peyton when he was a baby and as he was standing there with all of his little friends, it hit me at just how big he's really gotten. My sweet Peyton, 6 years old...where has the time gone? Anyway...after the program we were invited back to the classroom for a small reception and I got to take some pictures with the teachers. Thank you Mrs. Pitman, Mrs. Edwards, and Ms. Satterfield for a wonderful school year. Peyton has learned so much this school year and loves you all very much!

Oh Fudgesicles!

Makenna and I had a girls night in on Thursday night while Brian took Peyton out. We ate dinner, took a long walk, played on the playground and when we came back we shared a fudgesicle. Makenna REALLY enjoyed the fudgesicle so of course I had to get some pictures of her sweet and sticky little face. Before it was all over, she had it all over me too! On my shirt, my arms and even my legs. Bath time was well deserved that evening!
