Pumpkin Pi

We had a pumpkin carving contest at work. Mine came in last place. I don't think anyone understood it but the ones that did asked who the mathematical nerd was. I considered that a compliment since a math nerd I am definitely not! I've struggled with math for a long time. So...thanks for the vote of confidence!
Pi - mathematical symbol....hello? Pi...as in pumpkin pie.
**hello**
is this thing on???

Banana

Almost every morning, Makenna eats either a banana or half of my bagel on the way to school. One day last week, she finished her banana but when I went to get her out of her car seat, there was a piece on her seat that she had dropped. I asked her if she wanted it and she said, "no, gucky". (yucky) So, I threw it into the grass. She reached out and started whining that she wanted it and I said, "no you said it was gucky." She piped up, "Did not!". I couldn't say anything for laughing. I do believe that was her first argument and she was very adamant about standing up for herself too!

Fall Festival

Peyton's Elementary does an annual fall festival and it's one of their biggest fundraisers. They have all kinds of games, bounce houses, face painting, karaoke, and food. We had a good time seeing classmates and meeting parents and catching up with old friends. Makenna did a great job sitting through her face painting. She also likes to "cheese" for the camera. She's such a little ham...much like Peyton was at her age. Although he is not much of one anymore. It's hard to get a good picture of him these days. I have to take what I can get!

Body Parts by Makenna

Makenna, where are your eyes?
Makenna, where are your ears?
How about your nose?
Makenna, where's your mouth?

Good girl!

Jack-O-Lantern

Peyton and I tried our hands at another jack this year. But this year we decided to go much bigger! I let him draw his design and scoop the "yucky" stuff out. He's pretty cute...and has a nice glow to him. Makenna described it best, "oo000h".

Just Call Me Betty Crocker

...well...not really. But, when we got home from the apple farm, we had a peck of apples I had to do something with. I decided to make my first ever apple pie. We picked a variety of apples today so I picked out some of each type then cored and peeled them.
Then mixed them with the usual sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and about 45 minutes later, I opened the oven to pure deliciousness! Just beautiful!
YUMMY!

Nivens Apple Farm

Our Sunday School group at church made a trip over to Nivens Apple Farm this afternoon. The kids got to play on the playground and of course we picked a peck of apples. Makenna has really been into "Old McDonald" lately so it was fun singing along with her and looking at the animals. Enjoy the show!
