Burger King "Cheese" Burger

We went to Burger King tonight for dinner before running some errands. Brian ordered Makenna some of their slider burgers. We couldn't get over how much of a perfect fit that little burger was for Makenna. She looked so adorable holding that "her size" cheeseburger. Once she figured out that I was snapping pictures, she started really cheesing it! That little girl is such a ham!

Tie-Dyed T-Shirts

Peyton and I tie-dyed some t-shirts on our Peyton-Mommy Day in addition to all of the other stuff we did last Monday (see below post). I just wanted to share a picture of our success!

Ethan's Birthday Party

Peyton's friend, Ethan had a Tae Kwon Do birthday party yesterday. They were given a lesson about focusing, they got to bust wood, and they even cut the cake with a huge sword! Thanks Tammy and Ethan for inviting us. We had a great time!

ABC's

Makenna loves to sing. Her favorite songs right now are ABC's, The Wheels on the Bus, and Ring Around the Rosies. My dad came over this afternoon and in an attempt to tune up Peyton's guitar, he and Makenna started singing their ABC's. Makenna can't say all of the letters but she does a great job singing the tune and clapping her knees to the beat. And when the song is over, she claps her hands and yells, "Yea!"

BFG Get Together

My family just recently joined a wonderful church that we've been going to since January. One of the neatest things about this church is the Bible Fellowship Groups that have formed (similar to small groups or bible study groups) and are mostly broken down by age. We have met some exciting and interesting families whom we have a lot in common. We try to get together socially and Friday night we got together for pizza/smores and a pool party. The kids were thrilled to be in the pool and had a great time getting to know one another. Makenna wanted to be in the pool so bad but Brian and I neither one had planned on swimming. So instead of fighting with her and trying to keep her away from the edge of the pool, one of our hosts gave us a tub filled with pool water. Makenna was sitting pretty in her very own pool! I hated that I didn't get any pictures of our friends...I'll try to do better next time.

First Day of School "Eve"

Tomorrow is the first day of another year of school. I can't believe that Peyton is starting 1st grade and I'm just trying to figure out where the time has gone. He learned so much last year in Kindergarten, I can only imagine how much he'll learn this year. He's very excited about a new year and it helps that his two buddies are in his new class too.

Peyton had his eyes checked and a general checkup last week. He's 52 pounds and 4'5". He's getting so big! He's one of the tallest out of his friends. I wonder how big he'll be at the end of 1st grade? With time flying so fast it won't take long to find out. It seems like yesterday he was sitting in my lap asking for a "nummy" (banana at 9 months).

Anyway...best wishes to everyone on a great upcoming school year!

Little Bity Laundry Helper

Makenna loves to help do the laundry. She helps us put the wet laundry into the dryer and then from the dryer to the recliner to fold them. Peyton started folding his own laundry at age 3 so maybe she's following in his footsteps??? One can hope right?

Peyton-Mommy Day

Today I took a vacation day and pulled Peyton out of daycare for a day out together...just the two of us. We had a great time. We started the day by having breakfast, then we ran a couple of errands around town including purchasing a birthday gift. Peyton had money burning in his wallet from a previous yard sale we had and wanted to go to Wal*mart to purchase a toy. Then we had lunch, watched movies (with a popcorn and candy fest) and then we spent a little bit of time at the pool. Before we knew it, it was time for "meet the teacher". He got Mrs. Ackerman for his 1st grade year. It won't be long before school starts...just 2 more days!
Thanks for a great day buddy. I sure do love you!

Makenna goes potty!

Even though this wasn't the first time Makenna went potty (she's done in very inconsistently a couple of times) this was the first time I could get a picture. And of course by the time my camera came around, she had lost interest of sitting there. Anyway...she had just finished her bath and I thought I would let her try. She went and then she waved at it and said bye bye. Too cute! She likes to watch the water swirl...what kid doesn't right? ha ha....

Makenna the artist

Brian and I were involved in some individual activities one afternoon not really paying any attention to the kids (I know...horrible right?) when we looked over and noticed that Makenna climbed up on the love seat all by herself and was coloring. She had gotten into her brothers toy drawer and picked out some paper and a few crayons and was just a coloring away. Just another reminder of how big she's getting...

Cookout with Todd and Charlotte

A good friend of ours that used to work with Brian invited us to their beautiful home for a cookout. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken on a stick with some delicious sides and some yummy desserts. We had good food and a great time catching up with friends. Thank you Todd and Charlotte for a wonderfully fun evening!
