Tree Trimming

Makenna kept asking for my dad all through lunch on Sunday, "pa-paw outside?". So I called and invited him over. I knew that he would be by himself that afternoon since mom had to work and the more the merrier when tree decorating right?

Makenna was so cute putting the ornaments on the tree. Now if we can just get her to LEAVE them on! She's all about the tree. I don't dare wrap any presents and put them under until closer to Christmas. I can only image the damage she would do to the gifts!

We had a good time making cookies, and listening to Christmas music despite the spat that Brian and I had regarding the lights. He's being a bit of a bah humbug this year but the season is early...hopefully he'll snap out of it!

**Notice on the 2nd picture how those 4 ornaments on the bottom are all grouped together. :)**

My Sweeties

Thanksgiving Day

Some snapshots of Thanksgiving at my parents house.

Maybe Makenna is going hunting???

Piano time with "pa paw"

My plate of deliciousness. Yummy!

The chef's. Mom made her traditional Turkey Casserole and Daddy made a wonderful ham.

Pa-paw, mine tastes really good. Let me see how good yours tastes.

My brother and his wife. (My other brother was behind a camera so unfortunately there was not a picture taken of him.)

Makenna...cheesing it up while eating an orange.

Family picture.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I Am Thankful

I am thankful for the blood of Jesus that was shed for my salvation.
I am thankful for the most wonderful man that came into my life 8 1/2 years ago who has never given me any reason to stop laughing.
I am thankful for two beautiful, healthy, loving children who also love each and adore each other.
I am thankful for parents who love me unconditionally and taught me the meaning of God's love through their example.
I am thankful for two brothers who offer two sides to lean on depending on my mood at the time.
I am thankful for in laws who love me and for the laughter they bring.
I am thankful for friends who bring out the best in me and want to see me succeed.
I am thankful for my career in banking and the wisdom that our leaders bring.
I am thankful to still be living in a free country.
I am thankful for past relationships that have honed me into the person I am today.
I am thankful for a loving church family who is happy to see me when I walk through the door.

I am thankful...I am loved....I am happy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Family Game Night

Align Center

Last night after dinner we decided to play some games. We pulled out Spiderman Operation and Dominoes. It was a wonderful evening of about 3 1/2 hours of fun. It took awhile for Peyton to get the hang of Operation but he got pretty good at. We played to 1000 in Dominoes and I'm pretty proud to say that I won. :) Makenna sat on the sidelines (sometimes on top of the table!) and cheered us on.

Peyton's Thanksgiving Program

Peyton and his classmates have been working extra hard on their Thanksgiving program for school that was to take place on 11/20. Peyton had two lines that he had to memorize and this costume to make and decorate. He ended up coming down with the flu and didn't get to attend school much less his program. Thank God that he bounced back from the flu very quickly...and he wasn't that upset about the program.

Pine Wood Derby

Peyton along with his Royal Rangers group at church went down to Columbia to race their pine wood derby cars on 11/14. Grandpa played a huge roll in the success of this car. Isn't it beautiful? Peyton and his daddy had a great time driving down and racing his car while Makenna and I got a head start on our Christmas shopping.

Hi Moon!

It was already getting dark tonight when Makenna and I left the daycare. When we got in the car, we watched the moon almost the whole way home. Makenna kept saying, "hi moon". When we made a left hand turn it was out of sight for awhile so I told her to say goodbye to the moon. She yelled, "NO!" She did not want to see the moon leave her. We finally saw the moon again and she said, "nigh-night moon". It was so precious. It reminded me of the book, Goodnight Moon.

Family Fun Fall Festival

Halloween night we went to church to the annual Family Fun Fall Festival. Peyton was Bumblebee the Transformer and Makenna was Pebbles from the Flintstones. Brian dressed in his OU jersey and I went as a football. The kids were able to play games and jump in the bounce houses...great energy outlet since it had rained all day. We ate pizza and huge cupcakes and Peyton did a stain glass craft. They came home with plenty of treats and we were all worn out! What a fun evening!
