Weight

I didn't have a big weight loss this week but I was very excited that the .8 pounds that I lost took me over the 40 pound mark to 40.2.  Whew who!  Now that's exciting!

Digital Scrapbooking

I ventured into the world of digital scrap booking tonight!  My good friend Lesley (she's over here)and I have been playing around with some ideas at work this week regarding programs, software, digital crafts etc.  Brian bought me Adobe Photoshop for Christmas and I'm just now getting around to experimenting with the joys (and many frustrations and even a few tears) of this wonderful tool.  I have so many pictures and I feel that I've cheated Makenna out of many delightful paper albums.  They say that you take fewer pictures of the 2nd child...not really...you just tend to not do anything with the pictures you have stored on your computer...out of sight out of mind!  Anyway!  I sat down and created my very first digital page and it only took me about 3 hours!  ha ha... Actually, the creating of the page wasn't difficult...it was actually quite fun...it was learning the mechanics of the program and all the file saving that was time consuming...for the novice aka me!

I really am happy with the results.  Hopefully with time, I'll be able to create a whole years worth of pictures in the time it took me to do this one page tonight...we'll see!  I have high hopes!

Speaking of Makenna Phrases....

Last weekend I decided it was time to take down the winter decorations from my mantel. I was playing around with different prints and photographs, vases, plants, and candles....trying to find the right look. I would set something up and rearrange it, take a step back to take in the over all look and to the left of me in a little bitty voice came, "nope...not pretty yet!". That girl sure does speak her mind...:)

2011 Biz Bowl

Each year our company forms teams to bowl in the Junior Achievement Biz Bowl. We had 5 teams this year and we had some wonderful team spirit and friendly competition with a whole lot of smack going on in the weeks leading up to the event. I was fortuntate enough to be on the winning team "Pineapple Crush" bowling a 144 in the first game...my all time record. It was a very fun evening out with coworkers and friends.

Makenna Phrases

We were at a fundraiser this morning at a local church when Makenna announced that she needed to go potty. So I took her, sat her on the potty, and after a few minutes, she says, "there's no pee pee in my body". I couldn't help but laugh at her and there was a woman brushing her hair at the sinks and she was laughing too. I think Makenna is getting into the -let's explore every public restroom we can - phase. I love hearing Makenna talk though...she comes up with really cute phrases. Like the other day at the ear doctor she noticed that all the toys were gone when we walked in the waiting room so in a very loud 3 year old voice, she exclaimed, "there's no toys, that not make me happy! dockor (doctor) make me mad!" She entertained the whole waiting room...and she wouldn't let it go either. She was really worked up over it. Fortunately, it take long to see Dr. Phillips. She had taken her baby doll so the Dr. could check her baby's ears too. Dr. Phillips was great looking into baby's ears and announcing that everything looked ok. Makenna was such a big girl climbing into the chair and setting up nice and tall she said, "see? that not so bad". It was so wonderful taking her to the doctor with her not climbing over me screaming and crying.

Weigh In

I promise to post about something other than weight soon but this has been such an exciting journey that I just have to share. I hope to eventually post some before and present day pictures as well as my story from the beginnng. But for now, I'll update you with this... as of my weigh in today, I've lost a total of 35 pounds!

Last summer at the Y they took my measurements and he was graceous enough to email me that information yesterday. I plan to get Brian to measure me this weekend so that I can report those results as well. Because in the end...I don't care how much I weigh I just want a healthy BMI and a healthy heart.

I promise that my next post will include pictures and normal family activities! We have Peyton's birthday and a cruise coming up!....
