Makenna's First Word

Makenna said "ma-ma" tonight! I wasn't there because I was registering for classes but when I called Brian to check on our milk status (Wednesday nights are cereal nights at our house) I heard her in the background. It was the most beautiful thing to hear. She said it over and over. I was particulary thrilled since Peyton said "da-da" first. Yea me! (grinning from ear to ear....)

6 Month Checkup

Makenna had her 6 month check up this past Tuesday. She had 3 shots...I just hate those! Her length has remained the same but she's gained about 2 1/2 pounds...she's 15 pounds now....still in the 25th percentile. She's my little sweetie. She looked so happy this morning with cereal all over her face. I couldn't refuse the shot.

My Birthday

For my birthday, the girls at our office surprised me with jewelry and a Starbucks gift card! Love me some Stars! I took a half day off from work and had lunch with Brian at City Range. After lunch, he took me to the Fred Astair Dance Studio and announced that for my birthday we are taking dance lessons! Isn't that exciting?! More to come regarding that!....

After dinner, mom came over to the house and brought another Starbucks gift card and a delicious loaf of zucchini bread. Momma's always know what ya like huh? Daddy didn't get to come but he sent me a very sweet e-card while I was at work.

I can't believe I'm already 32......

4th of July

We had a very nice 4th of July. The whole family gathered at mom and dad's house for smoked BBQ. It was very yummy! Unfortunately, Makenna had a really bad stomach bug so she wasn't up for partying much but she was a real trooper. She didn't hardly cry at at...she was just really quiet. Peyton had a lot of fun playing with sparklers.

Since Makenna wasn't feeling well, she didn't have an

appetite at all. HOWEVER, we learned that she loves tea!

What true southern girl doesn't right? ha ha.....

Unique Birthday Party

Today Megan (one of Peyton's classmates) had her 5th birthday party at the Greenville Recreational Equestrain Park. The kids had a great time. They took a hayride, they rode a pony, and they got to participate at the petting zoo. The day was absolutely beautiful.

It wasn't too hot and there was a wonderful breeze.
